Cima Adamello is the undisputed queen of that magnificent amphitheater of peaks that embraces Pian di Neve and the Vedretta del Mandrone, the largest glacier in the Italian Alps. Almost as if they did not belong to the same mountain, the two opposite sides define very different shapes and environments, the severe, wild and apparently insurmountable northern face, the easier southern portion, with gentle snowy slopes interspersed with short rock outcrops and two easy ridges lateral.
Having more days available, it is possible to make highly evocative and satisfying high altitude crossings, opportunities to link together several peaks, touch several glaciers and visit the numerous historical sites of the Great War present in the area, such as the Cannone 149/G at Cresta Croce, the Cavento and the Sentiero dei Fiori, the artefacts and cableways of Cima Carè Alto, the trenches and walkways of Cima Pozzoni.
Schedule: Day 1 - Meet the previous evening at the Mandrone Refuge (2,450m). Day 2 - Ascent to Cima Adamello (3,539m), via the Mandrone Glacier and Pian di Neve. Return to the valley.
The fee includes: UIAGM mountain guide service, logistics, insurance, technical equipment, souvenir photos. Not included: huts and transfers for participants and the guide to be shared among the participants.
