Cima Adamello is the undisputed queen of that magnificent amphitheater of peaks that embraces Pian di Neve and the Vedretta del Mandrone, the largest glacier in the Italian Alps. Almost as if they did not belong to the same mountain, the two opposite sides define very different shapes and environments, the severe, wild and apparently insurmountable northern face, the easier southern portion, with gentle snowy slopes interspersed with short rock outcrops and two easy ridges lateral.
Having more days available, it is possible to make highly evocative and satisfying high altitude crossings, opportunities to link together several peaks, touch several glaciers and visit the numerous historical sites of the Great War present in the area, such as the Cannone 149/G at Cresta Croce, the Cavento and the Sentiero dei Fiori, the artefacts and cableways of Cima Carè Alto, the trenches and walkways of Cima Pozzoni.
Program: G1 - Meeting in Pinzolo and transfer to Val Genova 1680m. Ascent to altitude via the Matarot path or the Mandrone glacier, Rifugio ai Caduti dell'Adamello 3040m. G2 – Pian di Neve, Cima Adamello 3539m, Val Genova 1680m.
The fee includes: UIAGM mountain guide service, logistical organisation, insurance, technical material, souvenir photo. Not included: shelters and transfers for oneself and the guide to be divided among the participants.
