The Smugglers' Path is a spectacular and unique itinerary to say the least, difficult to classify, because it is part via ferrata, part mountaineering route. The location is absurd and dizzying - a path overlooking Lake Garda - dug into the rock by smugglers to transport salt and tobacco between the Kingdom of Italy and Trentino, which at the time was still part of the Habsburg Empire. The progression develops with rope secured to bolts and nails, with a couple of particularly physical cable-equipped sections and a short descent equipped with a ring. A completely atypical experience that cannot be missed.
