When summer is upon us and the temperatures begin to drop, the desire for ice axes and crampons awakens. With October and the first snowfalls the landscape at high altitude changes quickly and radically, the walls are covered in white and the gullies begin to come into shape. This is the best time to visit Monte Nero di Presanella.
A grandiose context with superb lines and a wild environment (Couloir dell'H, Clean Climb, Rolling Stones, Farfalla Tigre, to name a few). With a clear road, access is quite convenient, by car or e-bike to the high-altitude car park in Val Nambrone, an hour's walk to the winter bivouac of the Segantini refuge, another two for the walls.
What to bring: layered clothing, gloves, cramponable boots, personal technical material, energy bars, hot drink, extra-necessary items for an overnight stay in the bivouac.
The fee includes: UIAGM mountain guide service, insurance, technical material (if necessary), souvenir photo.
